Get your Tommy guns ready.
In case you were living under, the Mafia Series is making a comeback. A couple months ago (honestly 2020 has been one long month), Hangar 13 announced the games were making a return with a big package, featuring a complete remake of Mafia, HD remaster of Mafia II, and the complete edition of Mafia III. Needless to say, fans have been looking forward to gampeplay for the remake, and Hangar 13 gave us some.
Here’s 14 minutes of Mafia: Definitive Edition.
The mission on display was on a farm at night time. You and the homies are trying to steal some booze, but it never goes that easy.
I will say the game looked pretty good. Granted it’s been 18 years since the original game launched, the graphical overhaul is solid, and I think they picked a good mission to showcase that. As for gameplay, it looks just like a Mafia game. You shoot, take cover, get in to some tough situations. The usual mafia business.
There was a hilarious moment that the comments section had a field day with. Hangar 13 president, Haden Blackman, talks about wanting to create a sense of gunfights being life and death since your character, Tommy, isn’t a trained soldier like Lincoln Clay from Mafia III. Needless to say, Tommy started murdering dudes, blind firing, and reloading like he had Sleight of Hand on from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
I think it looks good, but I’m a simple man. How does the remake look to you?
Mafia: Definitive Edition launches September 25th.
